Spredfast 2.0 will be released next Friday, October 15th.
Hopefully, we’ve been able to chat with you about it, or we sent you an email about it, or you’ve seen our tweets and posts about it. We’ve been doing a lot of talking about it because we’re really excited. We feel like version 2.0 takes Spredfast to a whole new level.
This blog post is really intended to give you a better sense of what you can expect to see next week.We’ll cover the major areas of new functionality: Analytics 2.0, Analytics Dashboard, Expanded Social Profiles & Salesforce Integration, Mobile Application, Foursquare Integration, and Search.
We’ve added some nifty functionality that lets you really make the analytics of Spredfast meaningful to you, including Default Trend Time Frames, Initiative and Action Goals, Engagement Value Presets, and Expanded Drill Down.
You’ve all grown to love the big buttons that show you your bird’s eye view of Engagement, Reach and Activity. Now, you can control the default time frames used behind those buttons. We’ve set them to show you the last 7 days of data compared to the rolling three week average, but you can change those now to include the last month of data compared to the average of the last 3 months, for example. There are a variety of options to choose from.
We’ve also built is support for Initiative and Action level goals. Now, you can set Engagement, Reach and Activity related goals that are exposed in the Analytics Dashboard, letting you know how much progress you’ve made or how much work you have left.
Finally, you can attribute values to specific types of engagement that are then used to calculate the total Value generated by your Initiative’s social media Activity. For example, you can choose to say each Retweet is worth $1, and each Mention is worth $2. We’ll use these values to calculate a total Value figure for your Initiative.
We’ve also added drill down capability to more of the Detailed Analytics table. For example, you may see new Followers for a particular day in the Reach section of the table and wonder, “Who started following me?” Now, you can click on the Follower number for a particular day and see the profile of the person who started following you.
The Analytics Dashboard
The idea here was to save you time by providing a dashboard of all of the analyses you do offline with the data you export from Spredfast.
That’s right! We’ve done your work for you. You’re welcome.
We’ve included over 15 different analyses in this first phase of the dashboard. Each analysis is presented in a widget that includes your data, charted to make it easy to see what is happening, a description/definition of the analysis, and some guidance on what to do if you see certain things in the analysis.
You can also apply filters, such as date range, Voice, Content Label, Content Type, Channel, and User to the dashboard to change the data you’re analyzing.
Best of all, you can create custom views of the dashboard by adding or removing widgets from the existing library, so that you can quickly and easily find the analyses that mean the most to you.
Expanded Social Profiles & Salesforce Integration
We know that you like to know as much as possible about a client or prospect when you talk with them, and social data is perhaps even more valuable because of its ability to provide better insight into the actual likes and dislikes of the person. With that in mind, we’ve expanded the social profile to include more data such as latest activity and Klout score. You can even make notes on selected profiles.
We’ve also built an integration with Salesforce that lets you create Social Contact Records in your Salesforce account. These Social Contact Records can be linked to existing Contact Records, providing you with a broader of view of the individual. We’ll even pull some data from the Contact Record (like name, company and title) into the social profile if a link has been made.
In Salesforce, you can see which Contact Records have linked Social Contact Records, and you can click to view the social data. You’ll see the social network username, some social profile data, and a full conversation history.
Spredfast Mobile Application
The version 2.0 release will also include the release of a mobile application for the iPhone. The application is focused on listening and engaging, as opposed to measuring. We feel like it will empower your marketing team to be in the thick of the action, engaging in person with clients and prospects, capturing real marketing moments with the full context of the moment in mind. You’ll also be able to create and publish content, and it will be measured just as if it had been sent out from your laptop.
At Spredfast, we’re big fans of location based services like Gowalla and Foursquare, and we believe these services hold real value for marketers with brick and mortar locations. We’ve already had a Gowalla integration in place for some time, and now we’re adding Foursquare as well. You’ll be able to add locations as a Social Stream and monitor the check-ins taking place at that location.
We wanted to get Facebook Places integration as well, but the reality is that the Facebook Places API isn’t really ready to do what we want to do. As soon as it is, rest assured that we’ll add Places in as well.
There are just those times when you need to find something and you need god-like vision. We know, we’ve been there. That’s why we’ve enabled Initiative-wide search. You can now search all Social Stream and Activity for any keyword using the search box, and we’ll show you everything that includes that keyword.
Various and Sundry items
We’re also adding in some cool new features that don’t really fit into a specific category.
- We’re adding support for Facebook Comments as an Action. Now, when you respond to a Facebook Wall Post with a comment, you’ll be able to see that comment as an Action on your Agenda and Calendar view. You can also schedule and assign a comment.
- We’re adding email notifications to Approval Teams so that those lazy guys in Legal (or wherever else your content has to go for approval) can’t claim they didn’t know they had something to approve in Spredfast. Whenever an Action is ready for an Approval team, all members of the Team will receive an email asking them to go look at it an approve it.
