Happy (belated) New Year! In between all of the holiday parties, stocking stuffing, eggnog drinking, and light hanging we’ve been doing, we’ve also been hard at work to bring new functionality to Spredfast. I’d like to walk you through some of that functionality in this blog post. We’ve got some very big releases planned for 2011 – but this one ought not to take too long to explain, so hang in there.
The popularity of social networks has inevitably meant the infiltration of spam. Fortunately for your Facebook Page, you can now mark items as spam from Spredfast and delete those items from your Facebook Page. Occasionally there will be an API limitation to delete that content right from Spredfast; in those cases, we’ll make it easy for your Facebook Page admins to get to your Facebook Page to delete the offending content. Once deleted, your spam will then be out of view from your streams, so you can get back to engaging with your fans and friends.
Over the next couple of months, we’ll be storing and analyzing that data. When we have enough data on spam on your page, we will make another release that is able to predictively find the spam for you. Because we’ll be analyzing your spam instead of all spam, we expect to be able to deliver targeted findings that you won’t be able to get with a “global” filter.
With this release, it’s also now very easy to change ownership of your company in Spredfast. “Owners” of companies have two special privileges: they’re always company administrators and they can’t be removed. If your social media lead changes or leaves, or for our full-service agencies and white labels who want to do a complete on-boarding before they cede control, we expect this to be a powerful and useful feature. From your company settings, the current owner can make any other person in the company the “owner,” or you can contact your Spredfast customer experience manager.
