Ready for Spredfast Summit? We are!
It’s my favorite time of year. Time to unpack (and buy!) fall wardrobes. Time to devote weekends to football (early mornings watching the EPL, afternoons watching NCAA). And, yes, time to indulge in the occasional Pumpkin Spice Latte.
Fall essentials aside, this is my favorite time of year because we are getting ready to welcome our customers back to town for the third annual Spredfast Summit. I won’t even pretend to be unbiased, this is my favorite social marketing event of the year.
Don’t get me wrong, we are beyond lucky that the world’s best digital and interactive minds come to our hometown every year for the flurry of learning, networking, and partying that is SXSW.
What I love about the Spredfast Summit is that it is completely focused on our customers and the incredible work they are doing to impact their business and advance the practice of social marketing. Nothing is more exciting than connecting our customers to one another and nothing is more inspiring than hearing about the innovative campaigns and programs they are executing.
Forgive me for getting nostalgic, but it’s hard to believe how far we’ve come as an industry, a company, and a community. It’s been a big year, and that calls for a Summit that is bigger and better than ever. I can’t wait to see familiar faces and meet many new ones at this year’s Summit.
Whether you’ve been to Summit before, or you’re planning to come for the first time this year, join me in a little reminiscing to get pumped about what’s to come!
Rebecca Lieb heralded the coming of Paid, Owned, and Earned at the first ever Spredfast Summit in 2012. Last year, Arianna Huffington talked about achieving business success in an evolving media landscape. We can’t wait to hear what BuzzFeed CEO, Jonah Peretti has to say about marketing at the speed of life.
Like I said, our customers are the very best part of the Spredfast Summit. They come ready to network, share their own expertise, and have a good time. Keep your eye out for the crew from Aramark—they bring social team members from across the country to Summit every year. Their crew is so big, they even create a custom hashtag. In 2012, they came in a #flyingcadillac, last year they showed us how to #ownthedragon—we can’t wait to see what’s in store this year.
An Unforgettable Party
There won’t be a dull moment at Summit, but I especially look forward to connecting over cocktails at The Belmont during our party. Since we are in the Live Music Capital of the World, it wouldn’t be a party without live entertainment. Memphis Strange brought down the house at the Rattle Inn in 2012 and Waterloo Revival took the stage at Rio in 2013. This year, Trombone Shorty is bringing the funk all the way from New Orleans.
Will I be seeing you at Summit? I hope so! If you haven’t registered yet, we still have limited spots available. Register today!
