Selfies at Work? It's the New Norm
Last week, LinkedIn published a guide to create the perfect #WorkSelfie to celebrate the launch of their New Norms @Work research. They tapped professional photographer Lee Coles to share his do’s and don’ts to create a profile-worthy shot.
Why? LinkedIn data shows that your profile is 14 times more likely to be viewed if you have a profile photo.
You should read the guide—it shows you how to create a great portrait with nothing more than a smart outfit, your smart phone, and a smile.
That said, we’re a social bunch at Spredfast, so our team had a LOT of fun taking #workselfie(s). No word on whether any of these will make it on to our LinkedIn profiles, but I figured we could share a few of the best ones here and introduce some of the awesome members of our team.
The London team took Ashley Brown, our VP of Social Strategy out to the pub.
In New York, we saw some expert executions of what Coles calls “Cliché Selfies” (we just call them fabulous.)
We even had a few road warriors share 30,000ft Work Selfies.
Here in Austin, our Sales floor was all smiles.
Members of the strategy team showed off our dazzling Austin view (and their dazzling smiles.)
While it wasn’t technically a selfie, we loved this picture of Senior Software Engineer, Tom Grochowicz.
I don’t even know what was happening in this picture. It was some serious selfie inception.
A few people couldn’t bear to leave their trusty MacBooks out of their selfies.
I managed to sneak in a selfie with our IT specialist Glenn Rodgers (who is a pretty accomplished photographer himself.)
Our executive team even got in on the action.
