The Social Swarm "“ Top Tidbits in Social this Week

How do you keep up with the latest and greatest in social each week? After pondering this question for a while, we"™ve decided to start sharing the top highlights we"™re seeing in the world of social media, Social CRM and technology research to help condense and consolidate. This week"™s top sound bytes included:

A new report about social networking sites and our lives from the Pew Research Center"™s Internet & American Life Project was published this week.  The report examines people"™s overall social networks and how use of these technologies is related to trust, tolerance, social support, community and political engagement.

Google's "Me on the Web" tool launched this week, with the intent to help "users better understand and manage their online identities, as well as learn how to remove unwanted content from Google search results."  It just got a little easier to keep tabs on your online identity.

Facebook has been very busy apparently, but has not been very good about keeping a lid on what they"™re supposedly up to.  In addition to a new photo sharing app and an HTML5-based mobile platform, Facebook is rumored to also be working on an iPad app.
