SXSWedu Uses Social to Celebrate Innovation
March gives us many reasons to celebrate. There’s St. Patrick’s Day, International Pancake Day, and our personal favorite, SXSW (Pancake Day came close). SXSW celebrates innovation and development across a variety of audiences, including music, film, interactive, and education. This year, we partnered with SXSWedu to get the celebration started early.
SXSWedu has grown in size and influence since its start in 2011 and, as a result, more of the educational community has gotten involved.
TES Global is a proud sponsor of SXSWedu. The organization is dedicated to supporting the world’s educators by searching for new resources and technology to help teachers excel in the classroom. Leading up to this year’s conference, TES Global is encouraging the teaching community to show how they’re revolutionizing the classroom experience by submitting their most creative social content, using the hashtag #TESInnovates.
All posts are entered for the chance to win a badge to SXSWedu, and yes, you can check out the content (and competition) on the website’s social mosaic.
More than a Competition
Looking at the content on the mosaic, SXSWedu and TES Global’s partnership has created more than a competition: it’s a source of inspiration. The visualization updates in real time, showcasing what the festival is all about. “Educators are at the heart of the SXSWedu community,” said Ron Reed, SXSWedu Executive Producer. The social hub is a dedicated space for them to show how they’re, “inspiring and empowering in and out of the classroom.”
Time to Celebrate
With SXSWedu right around the corner, content is pouring in. Do you know a teacher who’s innovating in the classroom? Encourage them to submit their own #TESInnovates content and check out some of our favorite submissions below:
