What Has 3 Summit Insiders Most Excited About #SFSummit 2015

Like any conference worth its salt, #SFSummit boasts the kind of energy that’s infectious. But Summit has something else, too: all the buzzing energy of Austin, Texas, the live music capital of the world.

This year’s summit will be a forward-thinking look at data-driven social insight. The summit will focus on Smart Social from top to bottom, and attendees can look forward to as much networking and education as they can barbecue. We spoke with three former #SFSummit attendees to get the low-down on what they’re looking forward to, both at the conference and in this beautifully weird city:

Craig Ricks, VP of Marketing at Paciolan

1. What are you most looking forward to at Summit?

Last year’s event was spectacular with great speakers, energy and content. I’m looking forward to hearing more social innovations from thought-leading, inspiring keynotes. And more cat videos of course…

2. What's the best interaction you've had on social?

I had a cool moment last year. We partnered with Spredfast to launch in-venue social visualizations with the University of Wisconsin athletics. On game day, I was at the gym watching the Wisconsin game, and saw the Spredfast visualization on the video board at Camp Randall Stadium on ESPN. #Badgers #SpredfastRocks

3. Austin is known for all the fun things we have to offer. What’s your “can’t miss” thing to see while you are here?

Austin has such a vibrant music scene, and last year’s event with the Trombone Shorty performance was a big hit. I’m excited to drink in a bit more of the Austin music scene while at the Summit. Also, excited to get the tour of the Spredfast offices. #HinosDesk, #Rachaels2ndHome

Chelsia Johnson, Social Media Manager at Lifesize

1. What are you most looking forward to at Summit?

I am really looking forward to the breakout sessions and connecting with other social marketers—especially those in B2B. And of course live-tweeting Andy Cohen’s keynote!

2. What's the best interaction you've had on social?

Some of the best interactions we’ve had are the completely spontaneous UGC pieces our awesome customers have created with our product. With a product like HD video conferencing, we’ve seen some really creative use cases that we probably never would have seen if not for social media. Here’s a recent example:

3. Austin is known for all the fun things we have to offer. What’s your “can’t miss” thing to see while you are here?

There are SO many! The Hope Outdoor Gallery, anywhere with local craft beer like Hops & Grain or Austin Beerworks, and of course live music at one of the many venues around the city. I particularly love Stubb’s – nothing goes better with live music than the smell of BBQ!

Molly Feldman, Social Media Coordinator at The Humane Society

1. What are you most looking forward to at Summit?

I am most looking forward to learning about all the other social media leaders and how they have used social to further their business or cause. Social media is so innovative and it will be interesting to see all the different ways it can be used successfully.

2. What's the best interaction you've had on social?

My favorite interactions on social are when we hear from people who share a great story about how they rescued an animal or how much they enjoyed volunteering with us. There are some really sweet stories that just tug at your heartstrings.

3. Austin is known for all the fun things we have to offer. What’s your “can’t miss” thing to see while you are here?

This will be my very first time in Austin and I’ve heard so much about the bats under the Congress Bridge. That is definitely something I have to check out.
