iHeartRadio was looking for a way to help fans across the country come together around its 2011 music festival.
Using Mass Maps, iHeartRadio created an in-venue display that showed the location of people all around the country who were Tweeting about the iHeartRadio artists. As a city began to Tweet, the visualization would change in size. To supplement the in-venue experience, the visualization showed up online and gave fans the opportunity to see what was being Tweeted on the iHeartRadio Twitter tracker. Fans were able to view all Tweets about the festival or sort by individual artist.
